Founded in 1997 from advanced materials technology developed at the University of Western Australia, Advance ZincTek has grown from an early joint venture with Samsung Corning Co. Ltd into a leading global manufacturer of zinc oxide powder for cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications.

Global Regulatory Recognition of Zinc Oxide
Zinc oxide is recognised by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as GRASE (Generally Recognised As Safe and Effective) and is the only single active ingredient approved by the FDA to provide safe and effective broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB radiation. Our commitment to science and compliance ensures that every product we manufacture meets the highest international standards, with regulatory oversight from both the FDA and TGA.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has confirmed zinc oxide as safe for use in sunscreens and exempt from any further review, positioning it as the only mineral UV filter recognised as reliable and safe for long-term UVA and UVB protection.
As per the TGA’s statement in the Complementary and OTC Medicines Regulatory and Technical Forum (ComTech) - Record of Outcomes, April 2022:
“Based on literature surveys zinc oxide and titanium oxide are considered safe in sunscreens and will not be assessed (noting there may be other concerns relating to titanium oxide)”​
